PAFA and AAFA Launch 2026–2027 Africa Accounting & Finance Research Call (ACAFRI)
The Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), in partnership with the African Accounting and Finance Association (AAFA), has launched the 2026–2027 Africa Call for Accounting and Finance Research Initiative (ACAFRI).
ACAFRI is a flagship programme designed to promote African-led, evidence-based research that informs professional practice, regulation, and public policy across the continent. The initiative supports research aligned with Africa’s economic, governance, digital transformation, and sustainability priorities.
Under this Call, three research projects will be funded, with up to USD 9,000 per project. Findings from the selected projects will inform PAFA’s advocacy and policy work and will be presented at the 2027 Africa Congress of Accountants (ACOA) in Dakar, Senegal. Outputs will also be disseminated through PAFA and AAFA platforms and joint research publications.
Priority themes include public financial management, digital technologies and AI, capital markets and integrated reporting, and sustainability reporting and assurance.
The Call is open to qualified academics, with the Lead Investigator required to be resident in Africa. Proposals may be submitted in English or French.
📅 Deadline: 27 February 2026 (17:00 GMT)
