This webinar forms part of the broader Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) Forum to Advance Women in Accountancy in Africa, an initiative dedicated to fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and empowered accountancy profession across the continent. The Forum provides a continental platform that promotes the strengthening of women’s associations, enables knowledge-sharing across countries, encourages stakeholder dialogue, and advances women’s leadership and participation at all levels of the profession.

About the Theme: The Invisible Ladder

Career progression is often shaped by opportunities that are not formally visible or openly advertised. These opportunities frequently arise through trusted networks, advocacy, and sponsorship from leaders who actively open doors for emerging talent.

For many women, sponsorship remains one of the most powerful—yet least visible—drivers of career advancement. Unlike mentorship, sponsorship involves influential leaders actively advocating for individuals and creating access to leadership opportunities.

This webinar will explore the hidden dynamics of sponsorship and allyship, and how organisations and leaders can intentionally create pathways that elevate women into leadership and positions of influence.
